What is Footnotes?
Every year, city slickers and bumpkins alike cast away their worries and come together at the Rat and Parrot Tavern in the charming village of Pratts Bottom to take part in the annual Soul Scone Soirée celebrations. With delicious food, exciting games, and competitions galore, it’s the highlight of everyone’s year. So, don your finest attire and get ready to revel in the festivities!
A Note from the Creators
Footnotes is, by design, a low-stakes LARP centered around the fictional festival known as the Soul Scone Soirée. This festival draws inspiration from our real-world celebrations of Easter, Halloween, and Mardi Gras. The purpose of this game is slice-of-life storytelling—you, as participants, take on the roles of City Slickers, Bumpkins, or Oddballs, all taking the day off to enjoy the festivities! Taking inspiration from the works of Terry Pratchett and similar novelists, Footnotes aims to provide a weekend outlet for fun, zany, and above all, good-natured hijinks and humor!
What to Expect
Footnotes fosters a culture of celebration, merriment, and playful mischief. Throughout the weekend, game runners will host a variety of games, competitions, and events, with a schedule released several weeks before the event. You can expect classics like the egg-and-spoon race, alongside other more eccentric creations.

Due to not running in 2024, Footnotes will be running as a closed play test in 2025, with a full open run in 2026. Want to score an invite to the playtest then reach out to us via our email or Facebook!
